The small things...
I created and glued on some hardwood blocks to position and keep in position the iako / crossbeams. Nothing fancy or technical, just made sure to leave some extra space to account for coating and paint...so the iakos will still fit afterward....
Following you all the way-keep at the good work Jake. Have you weighed the sections yet? How you doing with the weight?
ReplyDeleteThe forward section, which is now complete except for paint, is roughly 42 pounds. The aft section, without mast step and partner, should a be a few pounds lighter yet.
DeleteGary's book has the sections listed as 58 pounds each. I'll be well under that, and that's with the addition of the self bailing cockpit and other things...so I'm quite happy with weight so far.
